Tikkun Leyl Shavuot

NLJC is happy to be bringing the Tikkun (repairing) concept to Norwich again. Shavuot is a festival which is 40 days from the end of Pesach (evening ). It is a harvest festival, but more importantly commemorates the giving of the Torah to the Jews. Please join us with Emily DeVoto, Rabbi Roderick Young and Marsha Parker.
We’d be pleased if you chip in with dairy main dishes or desserts with cheese.
The study session honours the similar “tikkun” held each year by the 16th-century mystical rabbis of Safed, during which the rabbis and their students stayed up all night on Shavuot studying sacred texts. We will not stay up all night. As other communities do, we will come together and enjoy Jewish learning across a range of topics.
