It is extremely lucky that Stephan Melzak, an award winning children's song writer, will be visiting Norwich and will be at the Earlham Road Synagogue. The  CCJ AGM has been brought forward in order to accommodate the July speaker. CCJ are very pleased that Steve Pank has offered to speak on ‘Early Christianity in Britain’.  Steve Pank is a valued member of CCJ and supports CCJ events. This will be a very interesting talk. Everyone is welcome to this event, but only members are allowed to vote.  There is no charge for the AGM.

The Annual Martin Buber Lecture (Council For Christians and Jews) CCJ are immensely fortunate to have as their speaker Rabbi Alexandra Wright, senior Rabbi to the Liberal Jewish Congregation in St. John’s Wood.  She is a strong supporter of CCJ. She will talk about ’What can Bach’s St. John Passion do for Jewish-Christian Relations?’  One might imagine the challenge it presents for an observant Jew, let alone a rabbi!  It would be good to have a large audience for such…

Norwich Liberal Jewish Community and Norwich Hebrew Congregation are pleased to again hold our  joint exhibit at the Earlham Road synagogue on the first day of Norwich & Norfolk Heritage weekend. The up-dated display shows the history of Jews in Norfolk to date.  The exhibit will show aspects of Jewish observance and custom.  Please do come along.  Community members will be present to answer queries you may have.  

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Council of Christians and Jews. Our guest of honour will be Rev. Canon Andrew White, known as the “Vicar of Baghdad” for his reconciliation work in the Middle East. Rev. CHRISTMAS AND CHANUKAH CELEBRATION During our annual Christmas and Chanukah celebration Marsha will explain the festival of Chanukah and light the chanukiah. Marsha teaches at Norwich Synagogue and is on the education board of the Jewish Board of Deputies. The Annual Chanukah Party will be held in the NHC communal hall.  This is from 3:30 p.m. for children and families and from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. for all other guests. It will be a great event.
