The Norwich Liberal Jewish Community is a registered charity and depends on its members to remain financially viable as an organisation and a community.
We rely on volunteers for everything from Kiddush to Hebrew lessons to running events and services. However, we have always placed importance on engaging a rabbi professionally to lead our community and services.
Despite a huge input from members, we still require sufficient funds every year to hire the Old Meeting House, insurance on our valuable scroll (rescued after the second world war in what was then Czechoslovakia), fees to engage our rabbi and be affiliated with Liberal Judaism, and costs to run some events.
Any donations you make to NLJC attracts gift aid if you are a UK taxpayer: for every £1 you donate, NLJC can claim 25 pence from HMRC boosting your donation by 25%.
If you wish to donate to the Norwich Liberal Jewish Community, do please contact our treasurer from the drop down menu on the online contact form. Alternatively, do feel free to speak to a member of Council. No donation is too small.
Additionally, you can support NLJC through your online shopping. There are two ways your online shopping can generate a donation to NLJC, as follows:
Give as You Live. If you shop online through Give as You Live, a small donation is made to NLJC. The details of how to do that may be found at: https://www.giveasyoulive.com/
Amazon Smile. If you already have an Amazon account, you need only go to the Smile Amazon site, using the same account details, and select NLJC as your favourite charity, and everytime you shop on Amazon, NLJC gets a small donation. To find out more, go to: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/
With both online shopping websites, you will need to have an account and nominate Norwich Liberal Jewish Community as your charity.
