Norwich HEART, Heritage Economic and Regeneration Trust, promote and support the annual open days in September. We normally participate, but were unable to do so last year as the open days were during the High Holy Days. Book groups are a great idea at any time. First of all you get to read a book. We hate to admit it, but in the case of the Jewish Book Group, even reading the book is not obligatory. Joan Goodman Lecture
The Joan Goodman Memorial Lecture was instigated by Simon Goodman, Joan's cousin, in about 2001. Joan was a notable member of both the Norwich Hebrew Congregation and the Norwich Liberal Jewish Community. Joan joined the Liberal community as she felt that women should be able to participate fully in Jewish rites and practices. Martin Buber Lecture – A CCJ Event
We are delighted to announce that Elkan Levy will be the guest speaker a our annual Martin Buber Lecture. The lecture is titled "Israel - fun, frolics, and fears". Norwich Pride Parade
Norwich Liberal Jewish Community has been invited to participate in the very successful Pride parade, this year. The Pride organisers have contacted many local faith groups, including us to take part, so we will be part of a multi-faith, multi-cultural event. The are events all day and evening and a picnic from 12:00 in Chapelfield Gardens. See Norwich Pride 2015 website for mor information. Jewish Cemetery Chapel Clean Up
Both NLJC & NHC (sadly) use the chapel in the Jewish Cemetery on Bowthorpe Road. So it is appropriate and good that we should get together to ensure it is tidy.
