What is the way? Reflections on halachah and progressive Judaism
In this and future Friday evening services, we will reflect on some central ideas that inform progressive Judaism. This week it is halachah. Even though our progressive movements are usually argued to be post-halachic, or not-halachic, this is stricyly speaking not true. We act accordingly to halachah at times. One can think for instance of some of the order of our service. So, what is halachah , and is there progressive halachah? How do we make decisions about some simple, practical acts that make up our Judaism?
